Synopsis

Extending on our BGP Fundamentals, this 2-part course will take you through what it takes to favourably manipulate your traffic flows.

We will explore different methods of curating, load balancing and multi-homing.

This is not an introductory BGP class, and it is assumed that you have an understanding of the BGP protocol and basic operations.

The Hands on Lab session, on day two, will expand on our BGP-TE Theory Session.  In this instructor-led lab, you will put the theory into practice.

Target audience

Technical folks who are building or operating a service provider or enterprise network and want to enhance their BGP knowledge

This is not an introductory BGP class, and it is assumed that you have an understanding of the BGP protocol and basic operations.

Prerequisites

It is assumed that the workshop participants have a working knowledge of IP Routing, IGP, Basic BGP are comfortable with IPv4, basic linux commands and how to use a router command line interface.

We recommend the following Academy courses be completed before the start of the tutorial:

Other requirements

Participants are advised to bring their own laptop computers with high-speed Wi-Fi (802.11a/g/n/ac) and administrative access to system.

Software: SSH Client, Telnet Client

Confirm Secure SHell (SSH) is allowed from the office or home network to access the lab infrastructure? Test ssh connectivity, try to connect to route-views.oregon-ix.net. For example from the CLI type: ssh rviews@route-views.oregon-ix.net
