This tutorial provides a technical introduction to the Internet of Things. It begins by discussing core concepts and a class of applications that is enabled by new IoT technologies. It goes on to discuss radio and network protocols for low-power wide area networks, including IETF, 3GPP, SigFox, and LoRaWAN. The idea of publish-subscribe data streams is covered and higher level IoT protocols are introduced, including CoAP, MQTT, REST, and Websockets.
This tutorial will be held at APNIC 46, please visit the event website for full details and to register: https://conference.apnic.net/46/
