Routing protocol defines how messages are transferred from a host to a destination within the Internet. This eLearning course will focus on Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), the protocol behind all inter-domain routing decisions on the Internet. The discussion will focus on the protocol features and attributes, BGP configuration, routes and peer groups.

Target Audience:

This course is aimed at people who wish to advance their knowledge of IP networks.


Basic understanding of Internet networking, TCP/IP and Routing fundamentals. It is recommended that the participants attend eROU01 course prior to attending this course.

  • Configuring BGP

Other requirements:

  • Updated web browser with Adobe Flash Player 11 or above
  • Broadband connection running at a minimum of 256kbps or better
  • Headset (to reduce noise)
