APNIC Network Security Workshop at SGNOG3
Celebrating its third year, APNIC has again joined the SGNOG3 Workshop and Conference as a supporting partner. The event was held at the Singapore Management University in Singapore, June 24-27.
There were two technical workshops on the first three days. Sheryl Hermoso (Training Officer, APNIC) and Champika Wijayatunga (ICANN) conducted the Network Security Workshop. A good mix of 14 engineers from the ISP, education, and government sector joined the workshop with attendees coming from three economies - Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong.
The other track was an MPLS Workshop conducted by Cisco.
Approximately 100 people from the SGNOG community attended the conference day on June 27. Senior Internet Resource Analyst Wita Laksono presented the APNIC Update. It was followed by several talks on topics such as Security, IXP, Peering, IPv6 and Traffic Engineering. To encourage more participation from younger people, APNIC sponsored 10 students’ attendance at the conference.
