Synopsis:

Cryptography is an essential aspect for secure communication. It plays a major part in Network Security in general.

This eLearning course will examine the different types of cryptography. It will look into some of the common cryptographic functions (symmetric vs. asymmetric algorithms) and how they are used in modern applications. There will be a detailed discussion of some of the encryption schemes and the algorithms behind them. Basic concepts of encryption and decryption, hash functions, and digital signatures will also be covered.

Target Audience:

Participants with basic understanding of network operations, who are interested to learn more about implementing Security.

Pre-requisites:

Basic understanding of Network Operations.

  • Intro and Background to Cryptography
  • Cryptographic Algorithms
  • Encryption and Decryption
  • Symmetric Key Algorithms
  • Asymmetric Key Algorithms
  • Hash Functions
  • Digital Signatures

Other requirements:

  • Updated web browser with Adobe Flash Player 11 or above
  • Broadband connection running at a minimum of 256kbps or better
  • Headset (to reduce noise)
