Synopsis:

Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is one of the key routing protocols that run the Internet. This eLearning course will look at BGP more closely, with a detailed discussion on the attributes that influence the best route selection.

Target Audience:

This course is designed for network engineers, systems administrators, and anyone who wish to advance their knowledge of IP networks.

Pre-requisites:

Working knowledge of TCP/IP, networks, and routing. It is recommended that participants attend an eROU03 course prior to attending this course.

  • What is an attribute?
  • BGP path attributes
  • Well-known and Optional Attributes
  • Mandatory and Discretionary Attributes
  • AS-Path, Next-Hop
  • Local Preferences
  • Community and MED

Other requirements:

  • Updated web browser with Adobe Flash Player 11 or above
  • Broadband connection running at a minimum of 256kbps or better
  • Headset (to reduce noise)
