PacNOG 14 Educational Workshops and Training in Suva, Fiji

PacNOG14 GP The APNIC Training Team participated in the recent PacNOG 14 Educational Workshops and Training from 2 to 6 Dec in Suva, Fiji, to help build capacity for network operators from the Pacific Islands.

In the first Workshop track, Training Officer Sheryl Hermoso and Senior Internet Resource Analyst Elly Tawhai, conducted an 'Internet Fundamentals and Resource Management' session for 14 participants. The goal of the half-day tutorial was to orient the participants and build the knowledge level required for the 'Introduction To Internet Routing' Workshop, which was conducted over the next four days.

Senior Training Specialist Nurul Islam began the Routing Workshop the following day and was later joined by Sheryl Hermoso and Elly Tawhai. There were 15 participants from major telecoms, service providers, universities and the government that attended, and they all successfully completed the workshop.

The other two workshop tracks were Campus Networking and Systems and Network Security, both of which were facilitated by the Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC). Overall, PacNOG 14 was a very successful event and we were proud to support it. We hope to participate again in the future.
